Scott A. Baldwin

Scott Baldwin, a proud native of Noblesville, Indiana graduated from Madison Heights High School.  After graduating high school, Scott embarked on a career in the military, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. After Scott’s military tour, he transitioned to the Indianapolis Police Department where he served as a patrol officer, field training supervisor, Narcotics Unit Supervisor, Metro Drug Task Force Unit Supervisor, and Homicide Detective Sergeant – Unit Supervisor for more than a decade. His dedication to justice and public safety earned him two Medals of Bravery and a Medal of Valor.  Additionally, Baldwin served in the United States Army Reserve.

Scott’s commitment to his country didn’t end with his law enforcement career. He voluntarily returned to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, aiding Marine Corps personnel in identifying and capturing high-value anti-coalition elements and narco-terrorists. As a reserve detective with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, he continued to serve his community.

Following his retirement from law enforcement, Baldwin ventured into the business world, operating IT, real estate, construction, development, and private security companies. Community engagement is at the core of Scott’s values. He has actively participated in various boards and commissions, including the Hamilton County Health Board, the Hamilton County Redevelopment Commission, and he has previously served as a board member of organizations like Crime Stoppers, Riverview Hospital, and Food Rescue, which strives to provide meals to struggling families.

Beyond his professional and civic commitments, Scott is a life member of the American Legion, theVFW, and the NRA. An avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and bow hunter, he finds solace and purpose in nature. Scott resides in Noblesville with his wife, Jaime, and their three children, Grace, Luke, and Elyse. They worship at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, where Scott is a member of the Parish Finance Council and has contributed as a youth football coach with the Catholic Youth Organization.

Scott currently serves as an Indiana State Senator, where he has championed business, police, and veteran friendly legislation. He is the Chairman of the Senate Insurance & Financial Institutions Committee and is the Ranking Member of the Senate Tax & Fiscal Policy Committee.

Scott Baldwin’s newest endeavor, Darkhorse Expeditions, is a YouTube channel dedicated to hunting and fishing. Beyond the thrill of the great outdoors, DarkHorse Expeditions aims to shed light on the challenges faced by Veterans battling PTSD and the alarming issue of suicide in these communities. Through his channel, Scott endeavors to spread hope, support, and awareness to those who need it most.
